Austrofascism (1933 – 1938) “was not just a corporative state [Ständestaat] but a ‘despicable, unpopular, authoritarian Austrian dictatorship’. This is the conclusion reached by the retired Austrian political scientist Emmerich Tálos in his new book entitled Das austrofaschistische Herrschaftssystem.
