Vom Kuferaš zum Vollkoffer

Da es mein Prinzip ist, über Schriftsteller, die mir persönlich viel bedeuten, nichts Wissenschaftliches zu schreiben, kann ich einer Festschrift für Dževad Karahasan wohl nichts Substanzielles hinzufügen, keine postkolonialen Spitzfindigkeiten über Orientalismus und Okzidentalismus, über liminale Zustände und Hybridität, über dritte Räume oder ähnliches, wie es sonst meine Unart ist: Der Forensiker braucht nun mal Abstand zu seinem Untersuchungsgegenstand. Was ich aber wohl beisteuern kann, ist, wie ich von Karahasan, den ich für den bedeutendsten lebenden bosnischen Autor halte, ein Wort lernte und wie ich es ihm zurückgeben möchte – als Gegengabe, die dem ursprünglichen Geschenk vielleicht etwas hinzufügt. Wobei ich noch nicht weiß, wieviel.

“From August 1941 to April 1945, hundreds of thousands of Serbs, Jews, and Romas, as well as anti-fascists of many nationalities, were murdered at the death camp known as Jasenovac.” A  documentary with English subtitles. (Later, unfortunately, the camp of Jasenovac would me used to legitimize and/or relativize Serbian war crimes in the Yugoslav Succession Wars of the 1990s.)
